Ever wanted to work for a beer magazine? Hop Culture is looking for driven and attentive individuals who want to join our team of music-loving, beer-soaked writers, designers, and event planners.

Our coverage focuses on the intersection of craft beer and the travel, gear, people, and culture that comes with it. You can find our current openings below. Despite covering the hoppy and alcoholic, we are looking for talented and determined candidates who want to help us grow into one of the largest online publications dedicated to craft beer. Those who can’t work through a hangover need not apply.

Editorial Internship

Current Openings: New York City

Twenty or thirty-something? Like craft beer? This internship is probably for you.

In three months, you’ll learn how to take a story from conception to production and develop a strong portfolio of online writing. Intelligence, inspiration, and a good sense of humor are a must. The ideal candidate prioritizes reporting and research — doing deep dives to find the correct answer, not the obvious one — and writing that translates the complex into the clear and concise, like they’re chatting with friends over beers.

How to Apply

Interested? Send a cover letter and résumé to [email protected] with the subject line EDITORIAL INTERN. Applicants should also attach or provide links to 3-5 work samples that give us a clear idea of your skill set(s), ability to problem solve, and creative approach. You are not required to be above the age of 21 to apply, though its strongly preferred.

Design Internship

Current Openings: New York City

Do you love color? Are annoyingly not shy about carrying a set of pens wherever you go? Can you work with a diverse talent pool of artists and create assets of your own for our social media platforms?

In three months, you’ll learn how to create magazine-quality assets in a controlled studio environment, along with mastering the chaos of communicating with other artists. Candidates should be intimately familiar with drawing, coloring, and sizing design projects. A distinct aesthetic and confidence are a must.

Events and Logistics Internship

Love organizing? Love event planning? Love craft beer?

The ideal candidate must have strong verbal and written skills, respond to emails as quickly as texts, and be able to visualize a project from inception through to completion. This is a jack of all trades position. You will learn a little of everything and be expected to juggle multiple projects at once. Organization is a plus.
