Today's Hottest Stories...
You all loved this piece so much the past couple of years that we’ve decided to keep updating it yearly, adding new brewery memberships and bottle societies we hear about and updating past ones with revised details for current editions. This year, we’re even adding a new category for beer clubs, which aren’t necessarily exclusive bottle drops but rather yearly clubs that offer members perks like a percentage off beers every time you visit the taproom, exclusive merch and events, and even sometimes your own unique mug or glass.
While bottle societies, brewery memberships, and beer clubs may have peaked during the pandemic years, they continue to provide a compelling reason to buy them. They give us a chance to nab some pretty exclusive, experimental beers from top-of-the-line breweries while delving deeper into the depths of breweries we genuinely respect.
Beyond the great liquid in these bottles, most of the following brewery memberships, bottle societies, and beer clubs offer many added incentives: opportunities to connect in person, access to behind-the-scenes events, and fun, inventive merch.
Brewery memberships, bottle societies, and beer clubs have become one of the best ways to get to know a brewery a little better.
For that reason, for 2025, we’re adding to our collection of our current favorites. You’ll see a few newcomers below, including Equilibrium, Moksa, Mast Landing, Tripping Animals, Plan Bee, Cohesion, Westbound & Down, and Mad Fritz.
This isn’t an exhaustive list of every beer club out there—just our take on some of our favorites. Let us know if we missed one or if we should turn our attention to another! Hit us up at @hopculturemag and tell us your suggestions. We’ll probably add it to the list!

Firestone Walker Brewmaster’s Collective is one of the best brewery bottle societies in the entire country.
There, we’ve said it. Seriously, this is one razzle-dazzle brewery membership.
Over twelve months, members receive seasonal collections spanning twenty-one beers developed from the ingenious minds of both Firestone Walker Brewmaster Matt Brynildson and Vintage Barrel Program Manager Jordan Ziegler, who selects the amalgam of barrels for aging the beer.
“We’re supposed to be doing the most special things we possibly can,” says Brynildson. “We’re taking all our beers from our dream board, condensing them into these releases.”
Now entering its fifth year, Firestone Walker’s Brewmaster’s Collective has an incredible lineup ready to roll out.
And we got an exclusive inside look here.
Released in quarterly drops with five beers a piece, plus a welcome kit, corresponding tasting events, inventive merch, and a host of other exclusives, the Brewmaster’s Collective brings an elevated experience to the typical bottle club.
The club has grown immensely popular.
“Heading into its fifth year, the beer club is really rounding into form as a family of true craft enthusiasts,” says Firestone Walker Club & Specialty Brands Manager Micaela Yeo. “The retention rate is really high, and relationships are forming from one year to the next—not just between us and our members, but among the members themselves at our various club happenings. They may be strangers when they first meet, but they’re immediately drawn together by a common bond: a love of great beer and beer culture. It’s cool to see this happen over time and to bring new people into the family.”
Because each beer in the Brewmaster’s Collective tells a narrative.
These aren’t your regular, run-of-the-mill releases. They’re not even your regular beyond-run-of-the-mill releases.
These beers are Firestone Walker’s way of experimenting in ways they usually can’t, “diving deeper than ever into our mastery of barrel-aged beers that push the envelope of aroma and flavor.” says Brynildson.
Most importantly, many beers offered in the Brewmaster’s Collective are only available to those in the club. And the ones you get, you may never find anywhere ever again.
Such as beers aged in various unique, personally sourced barrels, mega collabs with breweries from across the globe, and over-the-top, out-of-the-box ideas.
Despite this already stratospheric premise, somehow Firestone Walker found a way to go even higher this year. From a collab with Green Cheek and Pinthouse inspired by Elvis Presley’s favorite snack, a peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwich. “A flame thrower will be involved to flambée bananas with marshmallow and peanut butter flour,” shares Ziegler.
Firestone Walker also finally managed to wrangle the king of collabs himself, Horus Aged Ales Founder Kyle Harrop, to brew a beer together. The brewery says this collaboration “feels like finding that long-lost speakeasy.”
“It’s a crystal ale,” says Ziegler, “a style of beer created by Horus that we have never brewed before!”
Finally, Firestone Walker doesn’t just keep its collabs national. Teaming up with the Norwegian LERVIG, Ziegler says he had a lot of fun making this one. “We shared a lot of similar values when it came to making barrel-aged beers,” he says. “We decided to design a massive stout resting in six-year rye whiskey barrels, unadulterated from adjuncts to let the barrel character shine.”
Yeah, so there’s all that.
To view all the collections in full, head here.
But suffice it to say, these are barrel-aged beers at their best.
Don’t miss out on the Firestone Walker Brewmaster’s Collective this year.
Or you might regret it for the next 365 days.

As Outer Range Brand Manager Wyatt Holwagner told me, “Every bag is unique. Basically, they get an order, and every single bag is a different piece of material that they let their makers create!”
That’s basically over $1,200 worth of ORB beer for the entire year!
Pretty great deal.
Or a great gift too, if you buy it now.
The only catch is that ORB can’t ship beer, so you must pick up your 4-packs at the Frisco taproom. Honestly, an excuse to sit in the taproom nestled into the mountains with gorgeous 360-degree views isn’t an enormous ask, especially if you’re local.
And fits aptly with the brewery’s motto, “Leave the Life Below.”
For those who make the journey, you’ll enjoy 4-packs of excellent IPAs and Belgian beers, a love co-founder Lee Cleghorn nurtured after growing up in Brussels as a teenager when his dad received a station assignment in Belgium.
“I was sixteen years old drinking Chimay blue at bars downtown,” Lee told us in a previous article. Attending college in the United States, he never developed a taste for light beer because it simply didn’t taste as good as “some of the best beers in the world he drank at sixteen,” joked Outer Range’s other co-founder, Emily Cleghorn.
Since launching on Christmas Day in 2016, Outer Range gained national attention, named to Craft & Beer Brewing magazine’s critic’s list of best new breweries in 2017, and garnered accolades from BeerAdvocate and USA Today in 2018.
Most recently, Outer Range just picked up more accolades from USA Today as the Best Apres-Ski Bar in the country, and readers of Craft Beer & Brewing named the Colorado-based brewery as the number one Favorite Small Regional Brewery in the entire country.
Beyond the beer and goods, the other perk of this brewery membership is access to what they call “The Hangs.”
Designed to “build community,” according to Holwagner, “The Hangs” include four different quarterly events, such as an annual Summit Club party in the summer where members get to take part in a canning run and meet Lee and help him pick out hops for the next beer he brews.
Plus, don’t forget the epic Day of Haze, where Outer Range will cover seven ten-ounce pours and lunch for the day at either their Rockies or French Alps location. “We’re going to take care of you,” says Holwagner.
Outer Range only has 250 of these memberships available, so get yours while you can!
Pro Tip: If the Summit Club is too rich for your blood, consider the Can Club. For only $225, you’ll get access to two free 4-packs of your choice (up to a $24 value) per month.

On a mission to brew one hundred percent New York State-ingredient beer, Plan Bee sources all its ingredients from its home state, with many grown on-site. When the Hop Culture team visited over five years ago, Plan Bee husband-and-wife co-founders Emily and Evan Watson had just a yurt set up in the middle of a field. Nowadays, Plan Bee has expanded and built an incredible facility. However, even after the expansion, the brewery’s original ethos remains authentic, local beer made from ingredients grown in New York. Plan Bee’s taproom and beer represent the Hudson Valley region to a T…for terroir, that is. .
“The Hive Membership is our exclusive bottle club where we get to explore our creativity with beers on a nanoscale using only what we grow on the farm to share with a very small group of dedicated Plan Bee fans,” shares Emily in an email to Hop Culture.
She explains how each quarter follows the seasonality of the farm.
For instance, here’s an example of the most recent beers released:
🍻Hive (batch #4): A one hundred percent New York-ingredient wild ale drawing inspiration from the garden, this Thai-inspired beer included farm-grown Thai peppers, lemongrass, and Thai basil.
🍻Hive (batch #5): A one hundred percent New York-ingredient wild ale brewed with roasted wheat aged in oak on black walnuts from the farm’s trees and fennel from the garden, fermented with Plan Bee’s house culture.
🍻Hive (batch #6): A one hundred percent New York-ingredient wild ale brewed with roasted wheat aged in oak with spruce tips and fermented with Plan Bee’s house culture. “Our family holiday tradition involves a visit to our neighbors at Solvang Christmas Tree Farm,” says Emily. “We choose a tree, hand-saw it, and walk it home after a warm beverage from their cute Christmas shack. This beer was created with the Solvang Family by collecting the spring spruce tips from the younger trees and aging a dark Barn Beer base on top of the tips in an oak vessel pitched with Spruce resin.”
🍻Rossi Primavera: A one hundred percent New York-ingredient wild ale aged in oak and brewed with dandelion, cherries, lavender, and mint. Inspired by the amaro culture of Italy, this wild ale was a collaborative effort with the Poughkeepsie, NY-based institution of Rossi & Sons.
With a list like that, it may seem like the wild ales and bottles are the most incredible part of Plan Bee’s Hive Membership.
And they are. But what we love even more about Plan Bee’s membership club, in particular, is that you can get a taste of these incredible beers even if you don’t live in New York. Most membership clubs (rightly so) only offer taproom pickup or perhaps in-state shipping. But it’s very, very rare to find a bottle society like the Hive that ships to thirty-five different states.
Fair Isle Knitting Circle
Brewery Subscription Fee: $215 by joining through Fair Isle. $155 per release if joining and shipping through Tavour
Join Now! There are two ways to join: Be a “Local” and join through Fair Isle for Seattle pick-up and shipping to WA, OR, and DC, or through Tavour, which includes shipping to twenty-six states
Perks Include:
- The equivalent of eight 750ml bottles delivered over the course of the year (i.e. Fair Isle may deliver seven 750ml bottle and two 375ml bottles).
- Often, these beers include limited-seasonal, foraged ingredients, highlight special barrels, and feature unique, small-batch recipes
- Additional bottles may be available for members to purchase at each release
- Fifteen percent discount on all draft beer and food
- Add on exclusive merch opportunities
Purveyors of ultra-fine saisons, terroir-focused mixed-fermented, and elegant wild ales, Fair Isle collects all the best beers in its forest full of treasures and releases them in its Knitting Circle.
Named after a small island off the north coast of Scotland, Fair Isle is actually famous for its knitting technique. A play on that process, Knitting Circle connects all the elusive dots of this Seattle-based brewery into one of the most expressive beer memberships on this list.
“Our intent is primarily twofold,” writes Fair Isle on its website, “to offer you early insight into the direction of Fair Isle and to share small, thoughtful, experimental batches.
This can mean limited-batch beers with seasonally foraged ingredients or thoughtfully procured barrels. Often, these are one-off beers you try once and may never be able to again.
For example, Knitting Circle Season 5 Batch C, which just picked up a silver medal in the “Mixed-Culture Brett Beer” category at the Great American Beer Festival.
“Batch C is our annual blended oak-aged saison that expressed the beauty of simplicity: just time, oak, and our house yeast culture,” wrote Fair Isle Owner Andrew Pogue in an email to Hop Culture.
Pogue told us that this year’s batch blended a two-year-old mature, hoppy saison aged in an oak puncheon and a young saison from a neutral oak wine barrel. “Every winter we gather, pull nails, taste and blend the Batch C,” he explained. “Tasting this beer occupies two worlds as the aroma is earthy and reminiscent of fresh mushrooms while the pallet leans tropic. A foundation of nuance oak and vanilla give away to tropical notes of cherimoya and kiwi, like a South African Chardonnay.”
Beyond the beer Pogue was perhaps most excited about opening up accessibility to the Knitting Circle. This will be Fair Isle’s first year offering the Knitting Club to residents in Oregon and twenty-six other states through Tavour.
He adds that the club also has a new perk: getting fifteen percent off both beer and food in the taproom, which the brewery has opened up to all ages.
We love the story behind Knitting Circle, but you seriously can’t find the beers released here anywhere else.
Speciation Artisan Ales Cultured Club
Brewery Membership Fee: $75
Join: Now
Perks Include:
- Twenty percent discount on everything they sell: bottles, cans, merch, draft pours, and online releases
- Tuesday nights $3 off draft pours
- Four member-exclusive 375ml bottles (two different beers)
- Cultured Club exclusive holiday party
- Membership card
One of the most affordable clubs on this list, Speciation’s Cultured Club, gets you access to the brewery’s fantastic spontaneously fermented wild ales at a fourth of the cost of some of the other options here.
You get four bottles in this bottle society. And while you may think that seems small compared to some of the other brewery membership societies’ lofty twenty- or ten-plus offerings, don’t be fooled.
For $75, you’re getting an incredible value.
Speciation makes some of the country’s most incredible and creatively inspired wild ales. While Owner Mitch Ermatinger can’t share precisely what bottles are in store because they usually decide what to blend around mid-March, he has told us in the past, “We always try to make some unique blends for the club!”
So, if you want to dip your toes into the bottle society game, the Cultured Club is the perfect place.
Ermatinger noted that while Speciation is not allowed to ship (due to Michigan state law), proxies are allowed. The brewery also delivers all around Michigan a few times per year.
Perennial Artisan Ales Société du Chêne
Brewery Membership Fee: $500 for a single membership and $950 for a double membership. Quarterly members will pay $140 for the single and $250 for the double each quarter
Join: Usually renews around October. Available on Oznr. Quarterly single and double memberships are still available on Oznr here.
Perks Include:
- Introduced quarterly memberships in 2024/2025 along with yearly memberships
- Three spirits barrel-aged beers each quarter
- Option to buy all sour beers
- Fifteen percent discount towards on-premise purchase (does not include to-go, merchandise, or on-premise bottles)
- Exclusive member pre-sales for beer packages, Perennial event tickets, and additional member bottles
- Exclusive member bottles not for sale to the public
- Special member event
- Special Société du Chêne glass
The price of admission might be worth it just to get your hands on twelve spirits barrel-aged beers from one of the best in the game. While the number of bottles available this year increased, up from eight last year, sours will no longer be a part of the membership (although they are still available for additional purchase).
Abraxas continues to be one of the most-coveted and highest-rated barrel-aged stouts in the world from this St. Louis-based brewery. And while joining Perennial’s Société du Chêne doesn’t guarantee that beer, it indeed ensures you’ll get a dozen beer of an equal caliber.
Additionally, like many other clubs on this list, becoming a part of this bottle society gets you first access to other bottle releases before they go on sale.
The Bruery Reserve Society
Brewery Membership Fee: $325 for new members; $300 for returning members
Join: Now
Perks Include:
- Up to $450 worth of included beer for just $325 annually ($300 for renewing members)
- Includes twenty-two (375ml) Reserve Society exclusive beers released monthly throughout 2025 along with access to eighty-plus additional releases
- Fourteen months of complimentary cellar storage (1/1/25 – 2/28/26). Arrange for pick up and shipping according to your schedule
- Two pieces of Reserve Society-branded glassware
- Members enjoy a year-long fifteen percent discount on beer and merch purchases
- First access to curated experiences such as Supper Clubs and other beer pairing events, bottle shares, educational talks, and more
- Choose your flavor preference: The Bruery Package includes barrel-aged and experimental stouts, barleywines, ales, etc. The Bruery & Terreux has tart, funky options mixed in with the barrel-aged stuff
Known as “The World’s Most Adventurous Beer Membership,” The Bruery has been in the bottle society game for a bit now. And their specialty—barrel-aged beers in bottles—lends really well to creating a distinctive brewery membership.
Accordingly, the Reserve Society gets you access to some seriously killer beers.
But there are some unique things about The Bruery’s Reserve Society.
First, you can pick your track: The Bruery Package gets you barrel-aged stouts, barleywines, and ales, while The Bruery & Terreux track adds some tart, funky beers into the mix alongside the former.
The biggest change this year, according to The Bruery CEO Barry Holmes will be all beers moving from a 750ml to 375ml format, “which gives members more options and ultimately keeps the beer fresher for longer,” he says. “We’re also adding in more multi-barrel options, including imperial grand reserve, which is a four-year-aged stout across various barrels.”
He adds, “We’re also ramping up our private barrel program that allows members to choose between wheated and rye barrels and get a customized label.”
Whichever package you choose, you can be sure you’re getting some of The Bruery’s most innovative barrel-aged stouts (or signature wild and wacky bottles should you choose).
“We pride ourselves on innovation,” Holmes told us in the past. “We have to come up with new challenging things; otherwise, we’d get bored, and our members would get bored. … We’re challenging ourselves to innovate further afield [than] what we’ve done in the past.”
Beers like…
Chocolate Salty BBLs (2025), an imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels with vanilla beans, cacao nibs, and salt.
Mischief, The Bruery’s award-winning hoppy Belgian-style ale, returning only for a limited time.
And the 17th Anniversary bourbon barrel-aged English-style old ale.
Like before, there will even be an opportunity for Society members to craft one of the beers. Hence the name Crafted by Society, which will be released in July next year.
The complete list of 2025 Reserve Society beers can be found here.
According to Holmes, just the beer in the Reserve Society adds up to around a $450 value, meaning you recoup that original membership fee and then some. “We don’t take the $325 lightly; we know that’s a lot of money, so we try to pack as much value as we can,” he says.
Which is why the perks don’t just stop at the beer.
For the past couple of years, The Bruery hosted events like the Supper Club series, a special sit-down dinner just for club members, often with James Beard award-winning chefs.
Other member-exclusive events include beer pairing events, bottle shares, educational talks, and more.
No wonder The Bruery calls this “The World’s Most Adventurous Beer Membership.” For a bottle society that truly maximizes its value with beer and events, you can’t beat The Bruery’s Reserve Society.
Beer Clubs
A new category we added this year, “Beer Clubs,” can include everything from monthly beer subscriptions to mug club-type vibes, inviting you into the taproom for specials off everyday pours. Some of these are open year-round, while others open up registration once a year. Make sure you read the deets below!
Cohesion Štamgast
Brewery Subscription Fee: $175
Join: Membership typically opens every year in September. Follow Cohesion on Instagram (@cohesionbeer) or sign up for their newsletter (visit their homepage and scroll to the bottom) to stay up-to-date on membership openings
Perks Include:
- One dollar off any .5L pour every day (“invaluable, depending on your beer consumption!” according to Cohesion)
- One 25.4oz crowler every month; twelve in total (minimum $132 value)
- Štamgast exclusive merch item ($25 value)
- Cohesion ceramic coaster, made in the Czech Republic, served with your beer every time you visit. And you can take the coaster home at the end of the membership ($15 value)
- Štamgast party, closing the taproom for a night for members only
- Early access to brewery news, events, beer releases, and more
One of the most beautiful parts of the Czech-inspired brewery Cohesion in Denver, CO, has nothing to do with beer.
Co-founder Eric Larkin has a hitherto unheard-of dedication to making Czech beer the traditional way rarely seen in the States. So, yes, while the beer is incredible, the community the brewery inspires has also made an impression.
“Our Štamgast club was inspired by the word in Czech, which means “regular”—groups that frequent an establishment often, and normally in Czech, literally have a table set aside for them,” Cohesion Co-Founder Lisa Larkin explained. “We wanted to generate the same idea of community and camaraderie at Cohesion and have a way to show our regulars how much we value them!”
Cohesion treats its Štamgast members royally. You get a dollar off of any .5L pour every day, which is “invaluable, depending on your beer consumption!” according to Cohesion. Plus, you can take home a 25.4oz crowler every single month.
For instance, Cohesion 12° (one of the “Best Beers We Drank in October”).
Memberships only open once a year in September, running from October 1 to September 30 of the following year. To stay up to date on when new memberships drop, Lisa recommends either following Cohesion on Instagram (@cohesionbeer) or signing up for their newsletter (visit their homepage and scroll to the bottom), as they’ll announce sign-up periods through both those platforms.
She also mentions that Cohesion does offer an early sign-up for a limited number of spots during the brewery’s anniversary (the first weekend of August), so you can go in person and try your hand at nabbing one of those fifteen early-bird seats. “Those early sign-ups get a bonus month plus of access, with benefits starting that day,” Lisa explains. “It’s something we’ll most likely continue next year as well!”
Trust us, if we lived in Denver, we’d do everything possible to be a part of the Štamgast club.
Fort Point Beer Club
- Create your perfect mix of Core 6-packs, Limited 16oz 4-packs, or a fifty-fifty split of both, plus cider
- Fifteen percent off beer and cider at Fort Point taprooms
- First access to new releases
- Free overnight shipping
- Flexibility—pause or switch anytime you like
The Fort Point Beer Club allows you to create your own box of Fort Point beer, delivered right to your door.
“We originally launched Beer Club because we noticed we had a lot of regulars…people who would place a Fort Point order weekly or bi-weekly, and we also knew that major Fort Point fans are always looking for ways to get closer to the brand,” Fort Point Director of Marketing Christina Shatzen told us in an email.
A Beer Club membership gives you the freedom to create your own mix of Core beers, Limited beers, and cider (in increments of four or eight), or a mix of both, and you choose the delivery cadence.
Which is what we love so much about this particular brewery membership: It’s super flexible and customizable.
First, you choose your Beer Club type:
Core – Time-tested favorites available year-round in 6-packs
Limited – Experimental beers canned in 16oz 4-packs
Mixed – A fifty-fifty split of Limited 4-packs and Core 6-packs
Next, you can even decide how many beers you would like at any given time—four or eight.
Fort Point beer or cider gets delivered to you with free shipping along with a few other perks: fifteen percent off at the Fort Point taprooms and first access to order new releases.
“We love a good surprise and try to pepper those in unexpectedly for members,” writes Shatzen. “Sometimes that means getting to try a new beer before it launches; sometimes it means we’ll add a little gift into their order.”
Additionally, this year, Shatzen says they’ve finally let folks give Fort Point Beer Club as a gift, including the most popular subscription type—four mixed styles at three-month or six-month intervals. “Once they receive the gift in their inbox, the recipient can customize their mix of two limited beers and two core beers or ciders,” she explains. “They’ll also get access to other Beer Club perks, like fifteen percent off Fort Point beer and cider at their taprooms and first access to new releases. And as always, they can pause or adjust delivery timing as they go.”
That last part is perhaps the biggest benefit of the club—you can swap out beers, pause, or cancel anytime.
While most brewery clubs lock you in for an entire year (and that can be great), Fort Point has decided to go a slightly different route, allowing you to switch gears on a whim.
Although, we’re not sure why you would. We’re pretty positive that if we could get a monthly supply of Fort Point’s Italian pilsner Sfizio delivered right to our doorstep, we would be some happy campers.
Tripping Animals Foraging Club

- Quarterly Gatherings: Bottle shares, BBQs, and other fun events to keep the vibes strong and bring members together
- Monthly Membership: Unlike many bottle clubs, the Foraging Club works monthly, so it’s more accessible and less of a big upfront commitment
- Multi-Location Access: The club isn’t tied to just our Doral location. It’s open to all Tripping Animals locations, including the new Oakland Park spot opening this December
“It’s not just a membership; it’s a community,” those are the first words Tripping Animals Co-Founder Ignacio Montenegro used to describe the brewery’s Foraging Club. “The Foraging Club is all about connecting craft beer lovers who share a passion for discovering unique beers and building relationships. Our members, or ‘Foragers,’ as we like to call them, truly represent the creative and adventurous vibe that drives everything we do at Tripping Animals.”
Unlike other bottle clubs, the Foraging Club was designed specifically to be “fun, flexible, and full of perks,” says Montenegro, who points out that the club runs monthly, so it is less of an upfront commitment.
Basically, becoming a Forager means that you get to pick out a 4-pack of Tripping beer every month to take home. But here’s where that community part comes in: As a Forager, you’ll get access to fun events like bottle shares and BBQs meant to unite members.
In the Foraging Club, you’re encouraged to go on adventures with others, whether through beer, food, or just hanging out and having a good time.

During a time when we’re finding our wallets stretch every time we go to the grocery store, having a more affordable, flexible beer club to join is really appealing.

“The Mast Landing Hop Club is our way of connecting with the customers who visit and support us the most with special benefits, discounts, events, and opportunities across three taprooms in Maine,” wrote Mast Landing Owner and VP of Brand Strategy Parker Olen in an email to Hop Culture.
What we love about Mast Landing’s Hop Club is that, similar to Cohesion’s Štamgast, this beer club encourages you to go in and drink at the taproom.
Membership earns you 16oz pours for the price of 10oz ones all year round, along with fifteen percent off all packaged beer in the taprooms and twenty percent off Mast Landing merch.
Plus, you get a sweet glass to drink out of all year round.
Words like community, good vibes, and great times come to mind here.
Brewery Memberships That Are Closed Or Opening Soon That We Love
These brewery memberships aren’t currently open to the public or will open for enrollment next year, so we wanted to put them on your radar so you can keep an eye out for them in the future!

One of our seven favorite breweries in Los Angeles, Highland Park has earned a spot on the Southern California craft beer map alongside Pizza Port, Homage, and Mumford.
Started by Bob Kunz in 2018, the brewery has become known for their dedication to IPAs—they execute both West Coast (Hello, LA) and hazy styles (DDH More) very well—don’t sleep on their funky, experimental saisons and farmhouse ales. Hey, they even started the entire West Coast pilsner style with Timbo Pils!
And while we could crush Timbo Pils and all its variants any day of the week, we have to admit that their HPB Bottle Friends just takes things to that next level, offering special bottles at various times throughout the year, plus first dibs on many exclusive releases.
“Bottle Friends is all about thoughtfully blending and crafting barrel-aged beers with a focus on intentionality, quality, and accessibility for our closest friends and supporters,” wrote Highland Park Brewery Bottle Friends Manager Erik Bianchi.
This year, Bianchi gave us a sneak preview, including Luxury, a barrel-aged imperial vanilla stout, Coconut Tree, a barrel-aged imperial coconut stout, Infinitefinite, a blend of barrel-aged and double-barrel-aged imperial stouts, and, of course, BA Griffith, Highland Park’s epically incredible barrel-aged stout with coffee. Plus, he mentioned member-exclusive variants. 👀
Bottle Friends memberships run from April 1 through March 31 of the following year, with sign-ups happening later in mid-to-late February for the coming year. For something just a little different from our SoCal friends, keep an eye out for these!

Did you just see that list of perks?
Even if Pure Project wasn’t one of our favorite breweries in San Diego or hadn’t made one of our favorite beers of 2021, the perks alone of the Cellar Cyndicate would wow us.
But hey, all the above is true, so with this membership club, you’re getting all the juice out of the squeeze. This is a jam-packed bottle society stuffed with exclusive bottles, tickets to exclusive events, presale access to the 2025 Anniversary party, custom glassware, and more.
“Cellar Cyndicate is Pure Project’s exclusive bottle club membership curated for barrel-aged enthusiasts,” wrote Pure Project Marketing Project Manager Brooke Sliger in an email. “It includes special bottle releases along with many other member-only perks and benefits.”
Such as a special version of Enchiridion (which we named as one of our favorites in 2021!) just for Cellar Cyndicate Select members. “Enchiridion is our yearly reserve imperial stout release and is a blend of single, double, and triple bourbon barrel-aged stouts,” wrote Sliger. “The Cellar Cyndicate Select-only version will have the addition of special adjuncts.”
Throughout the rest of the year, Pure Project will release special bottles—from stouts to sours—only for Cellar Cyndicate members, allow early access to purchase any new releases, and include some of their most beloved beers in the club, including Corylus.
But you don’t have to take our word here. Just look at the club’s popularity: Since starting in 2017, the Cellar Cyndicate has grown from 100 members to 500 in 2022.
The membership sold out pretty fast this year, so while this one isn’t enrolling, we highly recommend keeping an eye on when this club opens up again in the fall of 2025.
Although according to Sliger, “Depending on how many bottles are available after the first brews come out of the barrel, they sometimes open a few extra spots before year-end, so be on the lookout!”
Side Project La Coterie
Brewery Membership Fee: $125
Join: Renews every year in the first quarter. If some don’t renew, a lottery will fill open spots. Add your name to the waitlist here.
Defined as an intimate and exclusive group of persons with a unifying common interest, coterie is the perfect word for Side Project’s own membership club. Started to make fantastic beer for the amazing people who support the Side Project Cellar, La Coterie gives members dibs on select Side Project beers before they go on sale to the public. Plus, every member gets $100 worth of what the brewery calls “white label” beers.
As far as exclusivity goes, this club is at the top. It’s invite-only, so you must be in the know or grandfathered in. However, Side Project occasionally fills vacancies with customers on their waitlist or through a lottery.
So here’s the critical part. If you are interested in a chance at getting in, make sure to add your name to the waitlist here.
Horus Aged Ales Convocation
Brewery Membership Fee: $600 for the Sky God tier; $400 for the Crowned Eagle tier. Both include twelve bottles
Join: Renews every year around early May. Usually around a dozen spots open up, according to Horus Aged Ales Founder Kyle Harrop
Perks Include:
Look, Horus does one thing really, really, really well—imperial, barrel-aged stouts with a ton of unique adjuncts.
And actually, Convocation came out more by necessity than anything else. Horus Founder Kyle Harrop needed a way to distribute the limited quantities of each beer he makes.
“I make such a small quantity of beer that I only have enough for a few hundred people with each release,” said Harrop in an article for San Diego Beer News. “It makes sense to offer those beers to the people who always support your company and vision rather than just random people trying to buy a hyped release when one comes around.”
Which means Harrop can get to know his devoted fans really well, often connecting with them on a first-name basis. And what started as 200 members has tripled to 600 as of 2024. But despite the growth, that kind of personal connection is what makes this club stand out.
Harrop uses these words to describe Convocation: “Exclusive. Niche. Rare. Small. One-of-a-kind.”
Those words fit aptly for the beer. A couple of Harrop’s favorites this year included Super Gloop, a blend of Baker’s bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout aged for thirty-four months, and Booker’s bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout aged for thirty-seven months with caramel, chocolate, Emperor’s coconut, and peanut brittle.
And PPR, an unblended imperial stout that spent time in five different barrels—fourteen months in Evan Williams bourbon barrels, ten months in Larceny bourbon barrels, nine months in Old Fitzgerald bourbon barrels, eight months in Henry McKenna bourbon barrels, and six months in Elijah Craig twenty-three-year-old bourbon barrels.
That says plenty about the beers Harrop loved in 2024, “But I am most excited about the secret tenth Anniversary beers I have planned!” he shared.
As a Convocation member, you can also expect unexpected events, such as a beer dinner in Kona with renowned knifemaker Neil Kamimura and a tenth-anniversary party in Oceanside in April 2025.
Westbound & Down From the Vault
Brewery Membership Fee: $250
Join: Targeting spring 2025 for renewals and new member sign-ups
Perks Include:
Dubbed one of our most under-the-radar breweries in Colorado, Westbound & Down produces creative and refreshing beers.
The brewery’s Inherited Wisdom made our list of the ”27 Best Beers We Drank in 2022” for its perfect execution of a simple, humble style.
And its cream ale called The Coloradan picked up a bronze at last year’s GABF.
But its own membership club dips down into the deep dark depths of its barrel-aged program for its members.
From the Vault (FTV) takes its name very seriously. “From the Vault exemplifies our commitment to innovation and experimentation and brings another level of detail and excitement to our barrel-aged beer program,” Westbound & Down Creative Director Eric Schmidt writes in an email to Hop Culture. “These releases are often the first look at where our barrel program is headed as we promise our favorite barrels and blends to members. Some of these beers aren’t scalable due to the exclusivity of certain barrels and the high cost of ingredients, so being an FTV member (or becoming friends with one) might be your only chance to try them.”
Need an example?
Earlier this year, From the Vault dropped Meta Vanilla, a collab with Amalgam (Schmidt and Bierstadt Lagerhaus Brewer Phil Joyce’s side-project brewery), which included a vanilla extract barrel and Madagascar vanilla beans.
Coming up will be Coconut Justice, a special member-only variant of the 2024 GABF-gold-medal-winning barrel-aged imperial stouts, finished on raw and toasted coconut.
“Outside of that, you can expect some of our favorite single barrels, experimental blends, and adjunct projects,” wrote Schmidt.
With just 175 members in the membership program, From the Vault has stayed on the small side. And that’s by intention, according to Schmidt, “to allow for single-barrel and experimental projects as well as to connect with and build community.”
If you do snag one of these coveted memberships, you’re in for some fantastic bottles “from the vault” in 2025.
Mad Fritz Membership

Join: Limited new memberships open up to the waitlist each quarter six weeks before the next allocation date. Sign up for the waitlist here

Receive either twelve, twenty-four, or forty-eight of these one-of-a-kind bottles throughout the year
Mad Fritz is one of Napa Valley’s best-kept secrets.
There is only one way to describe Nile Zacherle, brewer, maltster, roaster, and co-founder of Mad Fritz: mad scientist. When you talk to him about his tiny appointment-only brewery in St. Helena, CA, his eyes gleam with a radiant and infectious energy.
When we visited one beautiful weekend in March, despite being on crutches from a sledding accident, Zacherle didn’t miss a step, spoiling us with taste after taste of his small-batch sensations.
Zacherle started homebrewing with his dad in Hawaii when he was only nineteen. You can still see the proof in a black folder stocked with all his old recipes. Stained, lopsidedly xeroxed, and written with hand-scrawled notes, each page takes you to another part of Zacherle’s life.
One might call Mad Fritz Zacherle’s little crazy laboratory. A place driven by the pursuit of the perfect fruit to use in a kölsch with white fig that’s “the protagonist in the beer without taking over the beer,” says Zacherle.
Or the perfect water source for a single-origin beer focusing on ingredients just from Mendocino County (still in the works as of publication). And hops. “There was no one growing f**king hops in Mendo? Like WTF,” Zacherle shared, who eventually got connected with these two guys growing some after hearing about them through the grapevine at his son Fritzy’s soccer game.
Or a blue corn pale ale with twenty-five percent blue corn milled using old French quartzite stones at the historic Bale Grist Mill, which they malt in the warehouse next door to the tasting room. (Zacherle says they can floor-malt about five hundred pounds of malt at a time!)
“We’re one of the few breweries in the world that has a hop kiln, a malt house; we’re sourcing waters; we’re taking things to a really extreme source-origin level,” says Zacherle. “You’re drinking something that’s a reflection of just a lot of freaking work.”
Like a dry-hopped pilsner made with the “softest water in Napa Valley,” according to Zacherle, who eagerly wanted us to do a water tasting of the reservoir water he had collected in his beer van. We got too distracted by the beer. “That’s how geeky I get with beer,” he giggled.
Or an alternative-grain IPA that blew Hop Culture Social Media Manager Magic Muncie’s mind—“I’m pretty sure it’s one of the best gluten-free beers I’ve ever had!” he said.
“There are so many damn beers that I like to say I struggle with a condition known as OCBD: obsessive-compulsive brewing disorder,” jokes Zacherle.
These beers have a soul—a sense of being and place—probably why Zacherle calls them “origin beer.”
“When I think about making a new beer for Mad Fritz, it has to be something that’s just kind of a different category; it just touches a different flavor spectrum,” espoused Zacherle. “And this was something that was clearly like that.”
And here’s the thing about Mad Fritz. Until this past summer, when the small-batch brewery opened its Yountville taproom, the only way to experience co-founder Nile Zacherle’s incredible origin-based, terroir-focused beers was by making an appointment.
Or getting into the exclusive Mad Fritz Membership, which has been holding steady at 500 members.
Not a part of the club? Don’t worry; Zacherle says he opens subscriptions every quarter.
“These aren’t mainstream beers, yet they will appeal to those looking for new flavors, beers with a personality unlike anything you could buy at a store,” he says.
As Muncie said during our visit, Mad Fritz and its membership club are a “goosebump-type of situation.”
Moksa Advocators
Brewery Membership Fee: $225
Join: Usually renews around late April / early May. The best way to keep up to date is by keeping an eye on Moksa’s social media (@moksabrewing)
Perks Include:
This should tell you everything you need to know about Moksa’s Advocators: Memberships sell out yearly, and the current return rate is very high. Folks find value in Moksa’s bottle society year after year.
Access to this Rocklin-based brewery’s highly sought-after, often sold-out-as-soon-as-it-goes-on-sale Singularity series probably helps here.
“One of, if not THE, biggest perks of being an Advocator is our barrel-aged program,” wrote Moksa Advocators Membership Coordinator Chris Guthrie in an email to Hop Culture. He explains that under most circumstances, Advocator members have to-go presale and taproom preview access to these coveted bottles before they go live to the public.
For instance, Guthrie says that in 2024/2025, they’ll release two single-barrel stouts from the Singularity series and a treated barrel-aged stout.
Other perks include member-only beer pairing dinners, access to archive sales before the public, and exclusive access to the Moksa Jamboree.
“The Jamboree is our end-of-membership party and bottle share where we invite all our members to hang out with each other,” wrote Guthrie. The most recent party held last April included live music, food trucks, and “tons of Moksa beer on draft!” Attendees can also redeem their party ticket for the exclusive Jamboree bottle, Mutuality, starting the following day.
3 Sons Brewing Co. Family Membership V5
Brewery Membership Fee: Single Bottle Membership $225 (plus sales tax) or Double Bottle Membership: $425 (plus sales tax)
Join: Usually renews around late October / early November
Perks Include:
For the past few years, 3 Sons Brewing Co. has been one of South Florida’s hottest breweries. In fact, before owner and head brewer Corey Artanis even opened the taproom doors back in 2019, Ratebeer.com had ranked 3 Sons as the Best New Brewer in the world.
It’s Artanis’ pinpoint-perfect pastry stouts that have garnered a devoted following. And a gaggle of awards. Such as Summation, a bourbon barrel-aged Imperial vanilla and coffee stout inspired by Goose Island’s 2010 Vanilla Bourbon County stout. Similarly, 3 Sons has released Broward County Brand Stouts (BCB), a set of exceptional barrel-aged stout,s for the past few years.
The brewery’s Family Membership lets 3 Sons give its most loyal fans some serious perks. Along with a guaranteed six or twelve 500ml barrel-aged releases a year, Family Members also have first access to some serious suds.
For instance, Double Barrel Glass, a Family Members-exclusive that 3 Sons called its first true double barrel-aged stout.
Potential Brewery Memberships to Keep an Eye On
Other bottle societies and brewery memberships that we haven’t heard much about yet this year but that are definitely worth keeping an eye on as we head into the new year: Cellador Ales Syndicate, Wild Mind Ales Forgotten Barrel Society, and Phase Three Brewing P3 Ambassadors.
