When I started in the craft beer industry I worked as a beer rep for a brewery in Chicago called 5 Rabbit Cerveceria, hustling around the city selling beer. With that in mind I knew when I planned our inaugural womxn in craft beer festival Beers With(out) Beards back in 2018 that I wanted to celebrate the roles of all womxn in craft beer whether that meant someone brewing beer professionally, pounding the pavement, tending behind the bar, or even designing the labels on the can.

Brewers often garner most of the attention around a beer, but ever wonder what goes into a beer after it leaves the tanks? There are so many steps to finishing a beer before it makes it to your fridge at home.

The three ladies that kicked off our third annual and first-ever digital version of BW(O)B empowered by Bumble last Wednesday night exemplified the diversity of roles that womxn play in bringing a beer to life.

The Bringing Beer to Life Panel

Our Bringing Beer to Life Panel in collaboration with Tröegs Independent Brewing and Craft Beer Cellar featured Christie Yurkovic, Brewery Experience and Tour Supervisor at Tröegs, Lindsey Tweed, graphic designer and illustrator who has worked on a number of Tröegs’ beer labels, and Suzanne Schalow, CEO at Craft Beer Cellar. Each lady shared their experience with bringing beer to life once it leaves the brewhouse floor. From helming over 3,700 versions of the #1 ranked tour in the country according to 10Best and USA Today to designing a brewery’s new beer label to building one of the nation’s top craft beer retailers from the ground up these three women have impacted the industry in their own unique ways.

Hear the inspiring stories of how women affect craft beer every step of the way from taproom to shelf to glass and catch a sneak peek of Tröegs newest upcoming spring release of Joyous IPA.
