Every year our womxn in craft beer festival Beers With(out) Beards seeks to create inclusive communities and cultivate conversations that have the actionable potential to alter the scales of womxn drinking and working in the industry.

It’s a mission that we share with many breweries and businesses including one of craft beer’s leading inclusive and equitable companies, Chart Industries.

Known industry-wide for its frost-free vacuum insulated, liquid nitrogen equipment, that helps brewers create those signature smooth nitro beers, Chart Industries is also a leader in creating programs and mentorships aimed at diversity and inclusion.

In fact, this past March the company earned the recognition of a W for Winning company from Women on Board because their corporate board consists of 20% women directors. Steering the ship at Chart Industries is an incredible woman, Jillian Evanko, President and CEO of the company since 2018.

As a woman who has worked in predominantly male-dominated industries such as finance, industry, and craft beer, Evanko has made it her personal and company mission to support women across the industry. Her programs and approach earned her the Rainmaker Award from ExxonMobil’s 2020 Power Play awards, honoring a female professional who has delivered exceptional value and business results.

Jill brought her business acumen and expertise in overcoming challenges as a woman in the industry to one of BW(O)B’s most dynamic and thought-provoking panels. Our Women in Beer Leadership Roundtable featured four women in top positions in craft beer including Maíra Kimura, Co-owner of Brazilian-Japanese brewery Japas Cervejaria based in São Paulo, Brazil, Dawn Schulz, Co-owner of Prison City Pub & Brewery, Megan Wilson, COO at Torch & Crown Brewing Co., and Julie Verratti, Founder and Chief Brand Officer at LGBT-owned Denizens Brewing Co.

Five unique perspectives in five different parts of the country and the world sharing personal experiences to raise the bar of our industry, our leadership roundtable perfectly encapsulated the mission of BW(O)B.

Our final event during BW(O)B 2020 left an impactful impression, giving us hope for a more equitable, just, and inclusive future in craft beer.
