Hop Culture Returns To Charlotte For The Juicy Brews Balls To The Wall Craft Beer Festival
Wear your jerseys.
What’s up Queen City! It’s your boy Kenny G with some pretty juicy news — on March 21st, 2020, Hop Culture is coming back to Charlotte to throw the Juicy Brews Balls To The Wall Craft Beer Festival with Resident Culture Brewing. For those of you keeping note, we came to Charlotte on the same weekend last year and threw Juicy Brews March Madness. This year, we changed the name because we really didn’t want to get sued.
The New Stuff
Copyrights and trademarks aside, this is definitely one of the coolest beer festivals we do. It’s a bunch of the best breweries in the country, in Charlotte, with killer music, terrific food, and a full court basketball game. Not that I’m the best three point shooter in the world, but I’m a Duke English major with a penchant for Coach K, and Resident Culture co-founder Phillip McLamb is a former UNC basketball player. Last year, this was one of our best events, and this year it’s only going to get better.
So throw on those Nikes. Wear your jerseys. Crush some beautiful beer with some incredibly talented brewers. This is a beer festival!
One big difference from last year is that we’re holding the event at Resident Culture’s Beer Garden Space, located just across from Discovery Place in Uptown Charlotte. We’ll have more room than the Resident Culture Parking Lot but the same intimate atmosphere, and a beautiful view of Uptown.
The Brewery List
In addition to the theme and location, I’m excited about our list. One of my greatest pleasures is working with hugely talented entrepreneurs and businesspeople across the country, and I enjoy bringing them to the places I’m excited about. From Pittsburgh, we’ve got Dancing Gnome. From Connecticut, we’ve got New Park. Heck, Cellador Ales and The Rare Barrel are flying all the way in from California! And if you haven’t heard of some of these cats, all the better, because you’ll get to experience them for the first time. Check out this list:

The Festival Details
Now that’s a list, baby! Juiced to the absolute max. I should also mention this is the first festival at which we’ll have Vitamin Sea since we named them our 2019 Brewery of the Year — the first time in Hop Culture history a brewery has ever been given the title in their first year of operation.
So color me stoked. Although I’m from Pittsburgh, I went to high school in Charlotte (hence my 704 area code), and the only reason we’d go downtown was for Bobcat games. Now the city is undoubtedly cool.
The festival will be held in one session from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 406 N. Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte. You can get your tickets here.
Let’s boogie.
Yours truly,
Kenny G
